Day 83 – There is a wonderful pond at the college near our home. The swans that live there have their own house and fenced yard to winter in. They are diligent house keepers constantly clearing the path and discouraging curious, young geese from visiting too often. With a stern look like that who would want to mess with him?
Day 79 – Any high perch will do when scouting out supper.
Day 66 – Keeping watch over the neighborhood, catching up on all the gossip.
Day 59 – I realize that I posted a picture of a house finch in the bushes before. But this little lady surprised me this morning when I pulled up. She stayed just long enough for me to grab my camera and get a shot. Let’s see if her and the gang are there when I put up the Christmas lights. I’ll make it up to her by filling the feeder out back.
\\Day 52 – Some more experimentation in Photoshop with a photo I took at my mother-in-law’s house. She has so many beautiful birds that I hope to spend more time in her backyard when the weather gets warmer.
Day 50 – I am thankful that I got to spend this lovely day at the park with my two favorite people. I am also thankful that I got my camera out fast enough to catch this group of geese flying over the water.
Day 48 – Do birds know how cool it is to fly? I think they know exactly how cool it is.
Day 45 – Yes. That’s a wild turkey on top of a minivan. Do you think he knows what holiday is coming soon?
Day 31 – Another beautiful Autumn day to enjoy.
Day 14 – I had to go a bit out of my way for this close encounter. But it was worth it.
