Day 226 – The hot weather was unbearable today. And it looks like it’s going to be that way all week.

Day 212 – Today is my mother’s birthday. Happy Birthday to my first friend in the whole world. What a wild ride it’s been!

Day 209 – We celebrated my mom’s birthday with a champagne brunch. Her birthday is actually on Wednesday, but she’s a firm believer in celebrating for at least a week. After brunch we walked around the hotel and discovered this stretch limo Excalibur that was made especially for Luciano Pavarotti. Since she is a big opera fan, this was very exciting.

Day 205 – The last day of school marks the start of summer vacation. And what’s better in summer than the sounds of the ice cream truck (or cart)? This ice cream vendor walks the neighborhood near the school ringing his bells and singing. The kids usually aren’t too far behind.

Day 203 – Another school year comes to an end. What a fantastic year it’s been!

Rockford Air Fest 2012
Day 201 – We went to the Air Show today. It was thrilling. I really had a difficult time picking my favorite photo from today. There were so many amazing aerial displays! Photos can’t do these planes and pilots justice. You have to see them in person, to hear the roar of the engines as they fly by. The fighter planes in this photo are part of the Thunderbirds.

Day 151 – I saw this woman sketching the giraffe at the zoo the other day. I am not very good at drawing, which is probably why I love photography so much.
