Day 55 – The legend says that the pineapple was used by New England sea captains to announce their return home from the Caribbean. They would spear the tropical fruit on posts in front of their homes to let friends know of their safe return. The pineapple was an invitation to visit and hear stories of their travels.

Day 52 – Some more experimentation in Photoshop with a photo I took at my mother-in-law’s house. She has so many beautiful birds that I hope to spend more time in her backyard when the weather gets warmer.

Day 50 – I am thankful that I got to spend this lovely day at the park with my two favorite people. I am also thankful that I got my camera out fast enough to catch this group of geese flying over the water.

Day 48 – Do birds know how cool it is to fly? I think they know exactly how cool it is.

Day 41 – I love these tall grasses that grow near our house. And the blue sky was a special treat this afternoon after such a dreary morning.

Day 38 – My son and I ventured out to find a cemetery just outside of town that is rumored to be haunted. It was small and many of the headstones were old and fallen over from age or vandalism. There was one lone flag marking one of the few newer graves there. We took a moment to be thankful for our freedom. Gone but not forgotten.
