Day 297 – As I reflect on this anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11, I choose to honor those who lost their lives, not with tears or anger, but with a deep appreciation for life, beauty, creativity, laughter and love. Wisdom comes through the wound.
Day 295 – The C is worn with pride here in Illinois, win or lose. Da Bears have been my favorite football team for as long as I can remember. We won today, but it’s too early to say if we’ll be doing the Superbowl Shuffle this season.
Day 294 – Celebrating our son’s birthday a few days early with family. Since he does such a good Bane impression, we thought this would be a good quote for his cake.
Day 293 – I love orchids for their exotic beauty. They symbolize strength, innocence, beauty, refinement, love and thoughtfulness. They are the most handsome and interesting flowers I have ever seen.
Day 291 – Bill Clinton’s speech at tonight’s Democratic National Convention was one for the ages. He is an amazing speaker, a great intellectual and one of our country’s finest statesman. Never have I been more proud to be a Democrat than I am tonight.
